Account Development Manager

We are looking for a proactive person who can help us grow new and existing business by creating sales opportunities, following up on marketing leads and nuturing existing customer relationships. 

This will be ideal for anyone who likes a mix of sales, business development and account management. You will have previous experience of a B2B telesales role and the ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships by phone.

Sales Executive/Client Account Manager

We need two highly motivated junior sales professionals to join our inside sales team. You will be proactively dealing with customer enquiries, generating quotations, processing sales orders, and developing new business opportunities.

Ideally, you will have a technical sales background and some customer service experience. You should be able to keep a cool head in a fast-paced sales environment. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with customers at all levels of opportunity and have an adaptable attitude to any challenge.

We employ over 50 people across the business – and we know each other well. Some of us have been working together for at least 20 years.

Most employees are based in Godalming, Surrey but we’ve got 20 colleagues working at our warehouse in Bolton and a few more working remotely across the UK.

However, we all consider ourselves to be part of the same Hawco team.

During this time, we’ve built up an extensive knowledge about how each product works - and our success relies on giving our customers the best possible advice.

We’re not big fans of micromanagement. Instead, we prefer our staff to work on their own initiative. 

We encourage our employees to use their judgement in supporting our customers. We also look for opportunities to invest in our people, helping them to develop their skills and gain greater confidence in their abilities.

Where do most people work?

We have 55 employees. Most are based in Godalming, Surrey, including sales, technical, purchasing and finance. We have 20 warehouse staff in Bolton, Greater Manchester.  We also have 5 members of staff who work from home. 

Do you have parking in Godalming?

We have space for 17 cars including two electric charging points. Free street parking is available a short walk away. The nearest railway station is five minutes walk with regular trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour.

What social events can I expect?

We organise two social events each year, one in the summer and one at Christmas when we can get everyone together in a more relaxed atmosphere. Other more informal events take place from time to time. 

What are your normal business hours?

Our normal working hours in our Godalming office are 8:40 to 17:00 (Monday to Thursday) and 8:40 to 16:10 (Friday). 

Do you offer any formal training or professional development?

Most of our training is provided in-house on an informal basis or by our suppliers as required. However, in the past, we have occasionally supported employees with more structured learning, such as accountancy exams or F-Gas training. 

Will I be able to work from home?

This depends on the job role. Some of the employees based in our Godalming office work from home a couple of days a week.

What benefits do you offer?

In addition to a workplace pension, life insurance and childcare vouchers, all employees have access to health and wellbeing benefits. 

For example, employees can get financial support towards for eye tests, dental work, physiotheraphy and other health procedures. Employees also have access to confidential advice and counselling for issues including anxiety, bereavement, financial wellbeing or legal problems.  

What do most people wear?

This depends on your job role. Most of our staff in our Godalming office dress in a smart but relatively informal way. Employees who interact with customers or suppliers on a regular basis dress in a more formal business way.

Will I be expected to work overtime?

On the whole, we try to get most of our work done during our normal working day. On occasion, we might expect you to work a few extra hours to meet a specific deadline or get a project finished.

We are recruiting for an experienced sales manager who can find new OEM customers across Europe, generate business enquiries and provide support with the design of a diverse range of projects

This is a new position that will be ideal for a proactive individual who can work on their own initiative and wants to make the role their own. You will need to have previous experience in a commercial role with some existing technical product knowledge.
