Hitachi's Premium S series is built for long term operation in any home environment. The single-split wall-mounted design is built to operate both as an air conditioning unit and heat pump, heating and cooling as required, and for easy remote operation thanks to its control interface.

- The frost wash self-cleaning system eliminates up to 94% of mold, pollen, and bacteria which forms on the heat exchanger's surface by trapping and freezing them.
- A motion detector allows the Premium S to track local movement, limiting airflow if no one is present, and redirecting it if they are standing close by.
- Each unit can be controlled via a smartphone or iPad thanks to Hitachi's Hi-Kumo app, for complete adjustment of all of its systems.
