Thai manufacturer Siam Compressor Industry has been producing compressors since 1990. It started production of scroll compressors in 2002 and ships 800,000 scroll compressors every year. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsuibishi Electric Corporation.

APB compressors feature a patented technology (FCMT). This uses a pressure difference within the compressor chamber to maintain an optimum gap between the fixed and orbiting scrolls, without the need for a polymer tip seal.

Moveable Frame Increases Efficiency by 14%
SCI's patented FCMT (Frame Compliant Mechanism Technology) uses a frame that can move up and down to position the orbiting scroll perfectly against the fixed scroll. This self-adjustment system minimises gas leakage, increases performance and reduces power input.

Improved Reliability from Precise Thrust Forces
FCMT uses two middle pressure chambers to balance the force between the moveable frame and the orbiting scroll. With no need for a polymer tip seal to absorb friction between the orbiting and fixed scrolls, heat is reduced and long-term reliability maintained. The compressor can also operate at higher condensing temperatures up to 65°C for an indefinite period of time.
