Tutco Sureheat Triple Pass Air Process Heater
Tutco Sureheat

Unmatched Control : Air Process Heaters for Industrial Processes

Tutco SureHeat offer over 200 heating options to meet any application from 0.6 kW to 36 kW. These range from inexpensive electric air heaters for compact spot-heating (Series I, II & III and hot air tools) to closed-loop units which feature replaceable heater elements inside a special stainless-steel ‘triple-pass’ exchanger housing (Serpentine II and VI).

Further specialist options (including the SureHeat range) are suitable for high temperature (up to 900°C) and high pressure (up to 150psi) applications. Compressed air systems can also be supplied.
  • Practical maximum size for customised items is generally limited to 920mm wide or 2000mm long.
  • Maximum continuous operating temperature is 180°C - which allows a generous safety margin for short-term overtemperature excursions as high as 230°C
Air process heaters provide a powerful heat source used in a wide variety of OEM industrial applications, including plastics moulding, curing, drying and sealing.

By passing air over a highly efficient electric heating element, this heater type achieves high temperatures in a highly controllable way.
Triple pass heaters from Tutco Sureheat
The Serpentine triple pass heaters are modular field replaceable products. The heater unit consists of a Serpentine-coil electric heater element that fits into a stainless steel “triple-pass” exchanger housing and makes electrical connections through fittings pressed into the base.

The housing uses the incoming air to cool the outer shell prior to passing through the heater element. This minimizes radiant heat loss and provides a safe to the touch product to minimize injury to operators who come in contact with the heater. This product requires a compressed air source and is not suitable for use with a blower

Open loop spot heaters from Tutco Sureheat
The Tutco Sureheat Series of open loop spot heaters offers a simple, general purpose and compact electric air heater. Each heater uses a Serpentine™ wire heating element within a Quartz open-end ( Style A ) or nozzle ( Style B ) insulator tube made from clear quartz. for spot heating applications. Air is typically supplied by compressed air lines. These heaters cannot be used with a blower.

Control is commonly made using a manually operated power controller to apply a fixed voltage to the heating element. Using this system, the operator manually adjusts the controller to change heater temperature.

Advantages of Tutco Air Process Heaters
A Broad Range of Budget and Specialist Designs
Tutco offers a wide variety of air process heaters to fit a broad range of roles. These are divided in terms of role via a careful calculation of air flow rate, power, target temperature, pressure and air quality.
Compact Structure
At a maximum length of 200cm for custom items, the air process heaters are compactly built and easily portable.
Durable Builds
With stainless steel housings for the Serpentine range, and Quartz open ended nozzles for their Open-Loop Spot Heaters, much of Tutco's range is very durably constructed.
Improved Safety Features
Compared with fuel and combustion heaters, air process heaters are far less prone to catching fire and are fitted with control boxes that are equipped according to safety needs.

No two projects are the same

Every day, we work with a host of OEM customers, taking the time to understand your entire application and its specific technical requirements. This includes an assessment of your required flow rate, blower size, control system, thermocouple type and over-temperature protection

Versatile Heating Applications

Specialised Components for Research

We get involved in a lot of complex, higher-temperature projects especially for research facilities.

We provided a specialised air process heater as part of a pilot plant for the production of fuel cell systems – but we have also provided heaters for building research, automotive production, pet medication products and aerospace companies to name but a few.

These projects often require a suitable control panel which must be specially designed to suit each unique test environment.

Constant Access to Precision Components

A global manufacturer of takeaway drinks cups and lids uses a Serpentine VI air process heater to provide the carefully controlled heat required as part of their production process.

This model can be configured for temperatures as high as 815°C with a power range between 5 and 8kW and a maximum air flow of 14 SCFM.

As a volume customer, we stock this item on behalf of our customer to ensure that production is never interrupted.

Bespoke Solutions

Occasionally, we support customers with a highly specific production problem where an air process heater is the most appropriate solution.

For example, we helped a telecommunications supplier who was investigating whether there was a better way to seal fibre optic cables.

We helped them to design a handheld air heater that could be used by engineers in the field to perform the task much quicker and more easily.
